How to replace The Keylab or smartkey
The battery inside your Kia's smart key will eventually have to be replaced, whether it is a remote key, a push-to-start key or a standard metal key that doesn't contain transponder. This is especially the case if your car shows a message that states the remote or smart keys have low battery power.
Luckily, it's quite simple to do. To replace the keyfob battery remove your mechanical key from the slot at the back of the fob. Then, you need to pry the cover off. Inside the key fob will be a small screw that holds the battery in its place. Using a small screwdriver, unscrew the screw and pull out the old battery. Then, insert the new and close the slit inside the key fob.
Test the key fob by pressing the lock and unlock buttons. You're good to go If the doors lock and unlock as you expect. You can now utilize the hands-free feature to lock and unlock your Kia whenever your fingers become chilly or when you need to go on errands around Brandon.
Note: Certain key fobs (transponder chip or smart keys) may need to have their programming completed.
